Made for iPod

Apple is trying to control the huge market of accessories that has been created by the success of the Apple iPod. Apple has introduced the "Made for iPod" authorization "badge". If you are going to purchase any one of the thousands of accessories for your iPod, look for the "Made for iPod" logo. This means that the manufacturer has been approved by Apple and the quality of the product can be trusted.

Apple has even gone so far as to go after businesses that are using the iPod name in their domain name. (Who would do such a thing?)

Help Apple protect their trademark, image and profit by buying from "Made for iPod" sellers only.

Driving Miss iPod

Now that you've got a great playlist of songs why not take them with you on the road? The iPod is a great tool for playing your favorite songs in your car and you don't even need to wear your headphones!

There are many products on the market that help get your groovy tunes from your iPod to your car speakers. I have tried a few and in my experience would not recommend the wireless that plays the music through your radio. I found it a pain to find a frequency that would work and had to keep changing it as I drove. If you know of a great wireless version that works please let me know.

The way I went about getting my music into my car was to purchase on of those cassette contraptions that plugs directly into your iPod. You then just slip the cassette into your tape player and you're off! I found the music sounds great and I don't get static or lose my frequency.

If you don't have a tape player in your car you'll have to go with the wireless radio version. The cassette option I use is pictured here from Amazon.

Video iPod Anyone?

The rumors are flying and it's looking like within a very short period of time, Apple will unveil a video iPod. That's right, an iPod that can play video clips of songs, movies and even your own creations. Watch for iTunes to begin selling video clips on it's website. When that happens things could really get going.

My iPod - A Great One For Workouts

This is my first personal iPod. It's the iPod Mini Silver Edition with 4GB of space. At this point I have over 6 hours of music in 106 songs and I'm not even at 1/4 full!! You can get the 6GB version but you had better have a bunch of songs!

This Mini model is perfect for wearing on my arm and going to the gym. I lift weights and run on the treadmill and have never had any problems with the iPod. The only thing I would recommend is to watch out for doors and walls, you might forget you have it on and bang it a few times.

Click on this iPod and check it out!!

My iPod Playlist

  3. Take Your Mama by Scissor Sisters
  4. Our Lives by The Calling
  5. Pretty In Pink (acoustic) by Psychedelic Furs

  7. I Melt For You by Modern English
  8. Girlfriend by Matthew Sweet
  9. Sugar High by Coyote Shivers

iPod Dude is OPEN!!

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... can you hear it? What is it? It's the buzz about the hottest little techno gadget that has been created in years. It's an iPod, Dude! The iPod and it's offspring, the iPod Mini and Shuffle, have become much more than meek MP3 players. The iPod has unknowingly created it's own culture or as some would say, counter culture.

iPoders are sprouting up in big cities, small towns, colleges and just about every fitness facility in the world. But not every individual carries an iPod, nor is every individual suited to brandish an iPod. To own an iPod you need a little pinch of techno geek, a splash of yuppie attitude and a sprinkle of a renegade soul.

The iPod throng have created a culture of their own. It is not uncommon for one iPod owner to give a nod to a passing iPod owner and in extreme cases to even stop just to listen to one anothers musical tastes. An iPod owner can rip off the technical specs of their own unique iPod much like a car lover would describe the mechanics of a vintage 1957 cherry red convertible Hot Rod. Mine is a silver 4GB, 1000 song capacity, iPod mini, engraved, with the white Apple earphones, wrapped in a grass green iPod sock.

iPod owners have even become their own "crowd" in which marketers want to study, pundits want to understand and non-iPoders ask questions about. The iPod crowd is quickly becoming a force in itself, much like soccer moms and Nascar dads.

So, if you think you're ready for the iPod culture or you're already a part of it and want to learn more, browse the site, enjoy life and kick back with an iPod, Dude!
